Solace Day 3 - Hanging Around

We woke up to a pleasant day, though the rain had been heavy overnight. When we arrived at the lock at Alrewas to join the river Trent for a short while, one of the boaters told us he had come up the Trent section yesterday and the current was really bad. Another couple came up on Friday after conditions had closed the section for a day or two. There was a yellow caution warning showing on the board.

We sat wondering what to do, We sat for a couple of hours. It had not rained this morning so we felt conditions must be improving so we ventured down onto the river. The flow was fast but not enough  us to make us worry about losing  control. Thankfully we got through safely and moored ar Branston Water Park, one of our favourite places.
