Hanging on

Last year's leaves are still hanging on to the oak trees, but new buds are beginning to burgeon. Leaves stay on beech trees over the winter too, and there are several theories as to why this happens.

Good weather for a change. Late morning we went to the recycling centre with, among other things, 15 large bags full of garden waste, mostly from the big laurel that MrM cut down. Another couple of hours in the garden this afternoon, and there's another bag full of garden waste, mostly buddleia prunings. Very glad that the council have accepted our application for a brown garden waste bin for next year, though I suspect that we'll still have to take some to the recycling centre!

An early evening walk along the cliff with MrM, before he cooked us a delicious chicken curry.
