today's another day

Business Breakfast, MysonPages, Rochdale

This morning around 90 people joined us at Sandbrook House for our Business Breakfast Event, celebrating 25 years of MysonPages and all things Rochdale.

A great morning, a full room, and that Rochdale buzz about the place.

Chris Maguire did a wonderful job hosting the morning and it was great to hear from Steve Rumbelow, about the some of bigger things happening in the borough. If you have yet to visit our Town Hall since it reopened, it is a feast for the eyes, and the ears if the world famous organ is being played.

Atom Valley will hopefully be a project that helps level-up the north-south divide within Greater Manchester, and it's great that that is recognised now, and that an opportunity has been found.

My good friend Lee Houston, Head of Product at Zen Internet for his whistle-stop tour through the history of the internet. We’ve worked with Lee for many years now in partnership with Zen especially as we started to roll out telephony as an additional service, and like today, he’s never caused us a problem…

Hot on his heels came our friends from Brigantia, one of only 2 distributors we work with out of thousands we could. Why? Well, they do it like we do, in person, together with you, and they are always there to help. Nice to hear from Laurence Keir about Cyber Essentials and Robert Hall about KnowBe4.

Julia Heap from Hopwood Hall College and Danny Simpson from MID Group joined me on the panel session at the end to look to the future and how we make a success of it believing in the young people coming through. Two enthusiasts for our town, and like me both live here and believe in here.

At the end we raised around £180 for SpringHill Hospice for those who donated for a head-shot taken by Sam Kutereba-Wall who also did a cracking job with the sound and presentations.

We also collected 253 items for the Foodbank in Rochdale, which was amazing.

A great morning - I'm shattered now - but loving the positivity over on LinkedIn for this.

In the extra Laurence, Rob, Julia, Chris, Me, Danny, Lee and Steve
