The Buller Gorge Swingbridge

We took a drive down to the Buller Gorge Swingbridge this afternoon. It is something we go past quite often, yet never stop to take any photo's. So today we went for a Sunday drive. The Swingbridge, which is about 15 minutes west from Murchison, is New Zealand's longest Swingbridge. It is 110m long, 17m high, and towers over the Buller River. If you enlarge the photo, you will see 2 people walking over the bridge.

Once over the bridge, you can do a loop walk, which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. You can go gold panning, or take a jet boat ride along the river.

As well as walking back over the Swingbridge, you could also 'fly' back on the comet line, or do a Supaman ride. Have a look at their website (www.BullerGorge.co.nz) if you would like more information.
