Tree surgeon

The willow tree at the end of the garden behind the beech tree was being pollarded today. It was such a shame because it looked beautiful!

This evening I went to help with the refreshments at the Plymouth symphony Orchestra concert. It was amazing! Started with Appalachian Spring by Copeland, full of fire and movement. This was followed by a Ravel, Pavanne and then Bach Toccata and Fugue in G. After the interval it was Saint Saëns organ symphony which was the used for the soundtrack to Babe! Yet again a tour de force of passion and colour and a real privilege to be there.

Extra: view of orchestral springs doing pizzicato with all their bows in the air looking like a yacht haven with all the spars reaching upwards!
