Old Friend

This is my old CRT-D device (pacemaker) which has lived quietly (thank goodness) in my chest for the last 8 years.  Its battery was running down, so this morning I attended the Cardiology Dept at Halifax Hospital to have a replacement 'box' fitted. All went well and after replacement, recalibration and recovery I was back home for tea. I now have a new updated box fitted - I just hope I never need it.
(I asked a nurse in the theatre if I could photograph the old one for my Blip - she left it by my bed whilst I was sleeping, so I don't know what the dent in the case is - but I suspect it was something to do with its removal).
