Out and About

Leander

Today LMS Jubilee No. 45690 Leander steam engine visited  Haverthwaite heritage railway for the weekend.  The carpark was full of cars and visitors in orange jackets. Apparently they were all photographers who had paid good money to come and take photos of the engine as she hauls carriages up the couple of kilometres  to Lakeside and back.
I was told I was lucky to get a free photo. My question was how did she get here.  The railway connections were cut when they built  the bypass despite efforts to get a bridge built. She came by road on a low loader. That would have made a good photo.
