Australasian darter

This Australasian darter is a female as shown by the white feathers amonst the black and its white front. The extras show: the other profile; the stretched out neck (why it's called the snake bird); and communing with an ibis. Birds of a feather.

Because there is a male Australasian darter in the wetlands of Sydney Park (as blipped 13 January https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3192805818617563841), I'm hoping to see some young ones some time.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
