Amazing

My friend and work colleague, Steve, flies a two-seat microlight. Not one that you hang from the wing but looks just light a small aeroplane. Apparently what defines a microlight is it's weight and stall speed.

Anyway this was my first trip with him and it was amazing. We flew from Kemble across the River Severn to South Wales. If I recall correctly this is the edge of the Brecons looking north. He let me have a go too.

What's more, Steve lost both his legs from just above the knee in an accident many years ago! The microlite is adapted for hand controls. In fact he was a qualified display pilot, he holds a world record for the number of take-offs and landings in an hour (102!), has flown from Lands End to John O'Groats in a day, the list of achievements goes on and on.... He doesn't complain, makes the most of life - does things that many able-bodied people don't - he is amazing.
