A Meandering Life...

Lunch :: Then & Now

And what of the future?

Northallerton's Market Town status has been protected by Royal Charter since 1200AD and today some of the market stalls were dating back to those days.

The Medieval period they represented today was between 1066 to about 1300. My main Blip shows a weaver having lunch which included bread and honey. I had earlier photographed a lady having lunch and felt both images went well together.

In extras I have included a baker, a nun with herbs and a chap making coinage which if caught would not have been dealt with kindly...

I did wonder if in say 700 years time there will be a market here in Northallerton and if some re-enactors will dress up in puffer jackets and baseball caps whilst eating sausage rolls and drinking out of plastic bottles.
