Auld Alliance

A difficult day at work. I was helping in one of the libraries and some kids started kicking off, one of them in particular was screaming insults and we had to ask him to leave - he stayed just in front the door and continued shouting at everyone. Eventually, a guy from antisocial behaviour came too, but it was almost closing time by then. There was also a girl being difficult, manageable though...
I was glad to join my friend Flo for a meal at lovely vegetarian restaurant in Tollcross followed by a concert at the Usher Hall. It was by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the theme was Auld Alliance, with music from Berlioz - Rob Roy Overture, and La Mort de Cléopâtre, then a premiere by Macmillan - a choral setting of Robert Burns - and to finish, the fun Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise by Maxwell Davies, complete with bagpipes.
