Doone Valley River

A lovely day's walking with D&A&R. We strode high to some standing stones marked on the OS Map, to find a couple of upright pebbles that were laughably unimpressive.

The others all carried on for a longer walk, but (pending arrival of new orthotic wonder-shoes) my feet had had enough so I peeled off and took a gentle stroll along the Doone Valley river back to the camp-site.

It was very pretty. There's something particularly lush, almost tropical, about river valleys in south west England; we're just past midsummer and the river and its banks were bursting with life and with light. Felt good to be alive.

This is one of those ones where you need to press L for Large.
