Feeding the (big) baby

The main thing our garden seems to produce is sparrows! However I have started to warm to them since the babies arrived - they seem to be just as big as their parents but a great deal plumper and puffier. They are finding their wings fast, although one did arrive on our bedroom windowsill having mis-calculated the lift required to reach the nest in the gutter. After looking at us for a few moments it took off again for another try. They are funniest when wanting to be fed crouching down and fluttering their wings at the hard-working parent.
You can see one doing that on the left of the picture. You can also see that it is almost the same size as its parent.
