The Globe at Durlston Castle

The globe was constructed in 1887 in Greenwich from 15 pieces of Portland stone held together with granite dowels. It’s estimated to weigh 40 tons.
I walked from Swanage to peverill point then on to Durlston country park with the castle which is actually a folly and is a cafe. This is where this enormous globe is situated.
There were a lot of people walking or running a marathon this afternoon
