The sun shone today so this afternoon we popped over to the nearby village of Mells. Mells used to hold an annual daffodil festival each Easter. When Easter was late, there were no daffs left in flower for the festival. This year, Easter is fairly early, yet most of the daffs are well past their best. We did find one big clump though.
We walked along by the stream and past Mells Manor, home to the Earl of Oxford and Asquith. The drive always looks beautiful in the spring. Mells Manor was formerly owned by Horner family, and is the 'plum' in the nursery rhyme Little Jack Horner.
