Trentham Gardens

Yet another free morning while BB made important phone calls, so visited Trentham Gardens, for the first time.

Hoping for coffee we headed south along the lake, but the cafe seemed a very long way away, so turned round. On this stretch we were accosted by a black swan, determined that we feed it - sadly I had not brought anything suitable to offer. Extra shows how close it came.

Despite the rain the fountains were playing in the Italian Garden as we passed on our way to Totally Delicious, the other source of refreshment to assuage one's thirst.

In effect we just wandered round a bit, admiring Giant Redwoods, a view including Herdwick and Jacob sheep, blossom-covered Yoshino Cherry trees, and, in the borders, violets, fritillaries and a variety of Hellebores.

All too soon it was time to return to collect BB, take him to the flat, to continue sorting stuff, his friends arrived after a short holiday to assist. He now has a working television and, having deposited him in his Care Home and washed up the dinner dishes, we are enjoying quiz night - such a treat!
