Escaping The Mothership

We visited Emmett's Garden today, famous for it's banks of bluebells. We were about three weeks too early, although a few had made an appearance.

But I was on the lookout for emerging ferns. I was a bit early for them too. They are still holding back until the weather improves. But a few are getting a bit impatient and are escaping from their protective shields.

It makes an interesting picture as a result and looks almost like something from out of space.
