Meet up

A damp day, quite chilly. We took Fletch for a wander around AH grounds as it was fairly sheltered.

Took him home and then left him with his Doughnut collar on as a precaution.  Touch wood his skin is healing well and hes hardly tried to scratch but didnt want to chance leaving him without it on.
Back then to Abbey House to meet up with friend John who is staying near Kirby Lonsdale.  We havent seen him for several months so there was plenty to chat about.  A nice meal and not expensive.

Back home and I'd a message from brother and sis in law about meeting up. Feeling really happy about that as Ive not seen Paul since last March ( last year was on hold as he waited for an operation on his spine)
Tried to book the New Inn for lunch as it's a half way point for us but they arent doing lunchs due to staff shortages ( only one chef who is working morning and night 7 days a week)
Disappointed as it's not that long reopened  (previous people couldn't get the staff) and as it has had good reviews wed planned to stay there for a few nights in May. Perhaps itll be ok if we leave it to last minute.
So I booked the Bull near Skipton which is farther for us but nearer for my brother. It s a  nice place too and dog friendly.

Walked Fletch up alongside the dock at teatime. Theyve been chopping back the bramble bushes! Theyll grow back but I doubt theyll flower and fruit  this year. A disappointment to the many people who come blackberry picking. A disappointment for me as they were tall enough to act as a wind break.  At least theyve left the few shrubs and trees... for now.
I assume theyve cleared the area in preparation for the Anglers.  They have quite a few come for competition s .
