Kelvingrove today

A busy gallery and a tour of 26 people from all over the world.
As well as that I was working on some paintings for a new tour including quite a few from women artists.
Bessie MacNicol (1869–1904) was a Scottish painter and member of the Glasgow Girls group of artists.
Most of the Glasgow Girls worked in the applied arts, for example embroidery or metalwork  but Bessie and Norah Neilston Gray were considered to be very fine painters with a reputation in the UK and Europe.
Unfortunately she died in childbirth at the age of 34 and much of her work is lost.
