Heading For The Rainbow

Storm Nelson put paid to any hopes of golf this morning so we enjoyed a slow start and a bit of a walk during a lull in the rain before lunch.

This afternoon we went to the cinema at Bridgwater to watch Wicked Little Letters, which we really enjoyed. Both funny and moving with a great cast.

We came out of the cinema to a hailstorm but, as we drove home, the sun came out, producing a fine full rainbow. Tess took this blip through the front screen while I was driving.

Chedzoy, the village signposted to the right, is one of three local villages that used to be islands surrounded by water (the others being Middlezoy and Westonzoyland) and has been settled from as early as 3000BCE. The ‘zoy’ part means island.

Just to confuse non locals, it’s pronounced Chedzey or Chidgey, meaning Cedd’s Island.
