Good Old Ideas

A busy day looking after our youngest grandchild (Freya, 19 months), and then after school our oldest one (her brother Arthur, 5). In the morning we walked into town to do a few jobs then headed to Blackburn Museum.

In 1874 Blackburn Museum was one of the first purpose built and free museums to open outside of London.  Originally it was as the ornate gates say, Free Library Museum and Art Gallery until the library moved into its own building, which is why the word is painted over of course.

By the way it was closed when we got there! Ha ha ha. But great gates with those swirly bits.
