Easter Images

Portuguese Catholics seem to focus a lot more on Jesus' death than his resurrection, as opposed to the way our church in Britain would do it. These are the figures that have been in one procession, and will be in another tomorrow night, Good Friday. Not sure we'll make it, as we have guests coming, so thought I'd show them today:

Left to right, Jesus carrying his cross, called Senhor dos Passos (referring to passion, not steps), then Jesus dead in his coffin, then Mary, then the apostle John. These figures are centuries old, and plenty of Portuguese churches have the same set.

Prayer walked into town today (inbetween two long Zoom meetings, and a visit from Bengt), which is decorated with purple banners and crosses everywhere. Met a couple at Morango Bar, Dutch and Californian, who've been living in Amareleja for four years, invited them to Sunday nights at Sem Fim.

Gratefuls:
- even more heavy rain, thankfully after we got back from town
- good catch up with my sister and her husband in Texas
- getting our new car document stating that the colour is officially "grey and others"
