Central Buttress, Lochnagar

Woke up to the forecast high winds, so the planned climb that would have been my first roped mountain climbing trip since my children came along, had to be changed.
Instead of doing Squareface on Beinn a'Bhuird we headed to do Central Buttress on Lochnagar. As it is classed as a mod we just scrambled it. It was so brilliant to be back there with big exposure around, with great gripping rock, and wee problems to think about. We had no wind in the route at all but once we came out on to the summit plateau it was mental.

It was so good to be back in the mountains and getting such a great start to it all again was fantastic. I was even rewarded with a bloody knuckle, which is a sign of a good day.

On the way down we even managed to lie in the sun for a while.
