Happy returns...

First live cricket of the year for me today. Okay so it was a pre-season friendly between Surrey and Kent, but it was still great to be back at the Oval on a largely sunny day, which was a huge surprise after yesterday's washout.

Somewhat bizarrely the huge marquee, which Surrey use for pre-season training, was still in place at one end of the ground and was being used by a number of players not involved in the actual match. This included Surrey's four England test players, who have recently returned from the rather chastening defeat in the series in India. I couldn't get a decent shot of Gus Atkinson, but here are Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence and Ben Foakes in glorious monochrome
