Perfect day

I’d not been looking forward to coming away given what the weather has been like. However today it has been just perfect weather. We had a lovely walk from Boot to Stanley Ghyll waterfall. The lower path was closed because of the state of the footpath and the access to the viewing platform was up many steps which we chose not to do ( Mr H knees wouldn’t have coped) but it was still a lovely walk.
We then had lunch at the Saw Mill and sat outside overlooking the river Irt. Such a lovely place and an added bonus of being able to sit outside!

A drive to Egremont and Whithaven but it was getting late in the afternoon and beginning to drizzle so we didn’t stop and explore.

All in all a cracking day, and very pleased the river at Boot wasn’t as high as it has been in 1962!
