CannyScot's Day

Dundee CityScape

A bright sunny day

After lunch we paid a visit to the V&A Design Museum in Dundee. There were three excellent smaller Exhibitions, one about the history of the photography of cities, charting the development, the second was a Diorama Map, Dundee by photographer Sohei Nishino which is a large-scale photographic map of Dundee offering a captivating and intricate portrait of the city, through the eyes of the photographer, who took 9000 photos of people and locations and then stitched them all together, quite remarkable. The photo shows the composite photo and is best viewed on a large screen.

The third exhibition was the Dundee Tapestry, again a remarkable piece of work by hundreds of stitchers and out lines the history, life and people of Dundee.
