CyclopsJnr

By CyclopsJnr

Easter holidays

You might recall that CyclopsJnr received his 15m breast stroke sticker last week. CyclopsJnr has been a waterbaby since he was an actual baby, he loves swimming and has always been water confident. However his approach to swimming might be described as ‘not a recognised stroke’ – more of a hybrid approach despite a variety of formal and informal teaching. He could get about fine, swim several lengths, and no problem with the associated skills like treading water and collecting weights from the bottom and diving. Anyway, last week’s 15m breast stroke sticker marked CyclopsJnr finally having been signed off as demonstrating this stroke properly!

Well today MrsCyclops and CyclopsJnr went swimming and we happened to go at the same time as the aqua aerobics class, which meant that LOADS of families were crammed into a small open-swim section. So CyclopsJnr said let’s go in the slow lane and do some lengths. And we did! Off CyclopsJnr went and just kept going. He swum 800m! Properly!

After that we went to McDonalds for lunch, then we went along to Leith to the Argonaut bookshop as Granny had offered to buy CyclopsJnr a new graphic novel because he was so extremely patient when we viewed flats with her. This mission was successful. Thanks Granny!

Home for a quick rest then cyclops swapped in, to take CyclopsJnr for a nice springtime bike ride across to Murrayfield and then they watched Star Wars Return of the Jedi.
