Glen Roy Parallel Roads

A very strange day with not that much achieved.. I took Bruce and Caley for a short walk at UI this morning with the promise to the yellow boy of something more strenuous in the afternoon. Bruce is happy with a wee stroll just now but Caley has an awful lot of energy.
At I say the day was running away from us and our early dinner time arrived without the promised walk. We had like barbecue type chicken except done inside in the oven. I cut up a whole, corn fed, free range chicken in to nice portions and they got coated in M's special recipe marinade. The remaining carcass, with a bit of carrot and onion was boiled to make stock. The carcass was then carefully stripped for nice tasty bits for Bruce and Caley. One thing that surprises (alarms) me is just how much salt needs added to stock when you make it like this but knowing that the remaining meat is going to Bruce and Caley we add it at a later stage.

Our dinner was delicious and M made apple crumble and I had a second helping too.

Leaving the table fit to burst what do you do? Take Caley for a wee run up Bohuntin Hill of course. We did this walk last weekend and on that visit my photographs suffered from lack of tripod stabilisation so I stuck that surprisingly heavy addition in the rucksack too. It's a very quick 1000 feet and the wind was incredibly strong at the summit and at times you couldn't see a thing in the mist. The absence of convenient bricks to weigh down my tripod meant that most of the images even at hand held shutter speeds were affected by wind vibration. Caley took his favourite ball with him and ran off 2000 calories.
As we descended the mist seemed to be driven out of the valley briefly and we were presented with this nice view of the parallel roads again. (The wind was still very strong in case anyone pixel peeps)

Don't climb on a full stomach with a heavy rucksack.
