Everyone in South Africa is off for a public holiday for Human Rights Day, commemorating the date of the Sharpeville Massacre in 1960. This was one of the bloodiest episodes in the history of apartheid and helped open the world’s eyes to the dire situation in South Africa.

I try to stick to Tanzania public holidays to be faithful to my contract, so I plugged on in front of my laptop, along with my chocolate and peanut butter treats.
