Dave the Running Telephone

On our walk this afternoon we were passed by this running telephone! I only spotted it in time to take a photo of its back view, but when I got home I did a bit of research.

I discovered that the wearer of the telephone is Dave Lock from Woodford Green, who is running his 25th London Marathon on 21st April as team leader for the Samaritans.

Having himself experienced suicidal thoughts back in 1999, and having called the Samaritans for help, he later volunteered at his local Samaritans branch for a few years and has now completed 34 marathons and raised over £54,000 for the charity.
