Pasqueflower

When I was shooting waxwings last week, a guy told me that he had been to Therfield Heath snapping pasqueflowers the previous day. We set off to try and find them. To start with, we parked in the car park near McDonalds and set off, but no luck. We asked a couple of dog walkers in the car park, but they didn't know what we were talking about. We drove round for a bit and stopped in Coombes Lane. If you know the area, this is where people park to take landscape photos of Therfield with the rolling countryside. Still no pasqueflowers, so I googled it and found a link with a map. We went back to near where we had started and crossed the road following the woodland path. (What Nicoiseannie would call a secret path) We came out at Coronation Meadow after just five minutes and there they were!  It was so worth it. They are gorgeous!
