Sgwarnog: In the Field

Farewell

Bidding farewell again to Wales. The gulls are ever present companions on Denbigh rooftops, and currently seem to be plotting the development of even more gulls.

After an early morning catch-up and walk with Brother #2, it was back down to Rhyl on the bus, and one more game of football to catch before heading home.

I’ve been to Rhyl’s ground a couple of times before, but never to watch them play. Historically one of the strongest clubs in North Wales, they were wound up a few years ago but have been revived in the form of phoenix club ‘CPD Y Rhyl 1879’ and are working their way back up the Welsh pyramid. They’re currently top of the third tier Ardal NW League while today’s visitors, Y Felinheli, were bottom. It was an entertaining game, but Rhyl pulled away for a 4-1 win.

The journey back was reasonably smooth, if a bit drawn out.
