Extravagance

When you blow a whole year's saffron crop in one meal, but if you can't do it on Easter Sunday, when can you?  Before you think I'm getting too carried away, the 2022 crop didn't even manage to weigh in as I hadn't got scales that weigh anything less than a gram. 

In other news, one of the cucumbers, Diva by name has already broken surface, continuing the run of rapid germination this year.

The extra is an old photo that popped up of Mittens.  I think she has always been my favourite cat and definitely a cat who walked by herself.  She wasn't very cuddly, so if she honoured you by sitting on you, you waited until she was ready to move off.   She was a university cat, in that her mother was adopted by a house of students who promptly brought her home to one of the mothers(not me) when found to be pregnant.  She came to us as a ball of fluff on Christmas Eve, definitely not the best day to add a kitten to an unprepared home, but we managed and she was much loved.
