Woodpigeon ( Columba palumbus )

Yesterday we moved the bird bath to where it could be seen from the window.  We were hoping for the smaller birds as the weather warms up.  Looking out this morning there was a Woodpigeon taking pride of place.  Usually they use a puddle on the garage roof.  Sadly I didn't catch it bathing.

This year it looks as if we might have two pairs nesting, this one is building in the Holly in the background.  Going by the sounds coming from the Chamaecyparis lawsoniana "Lanei"  at the other end of the garden there is the traditional nest there.
