Rhodotypos scandens

White flowers of the shrub Rhodotypos scandens in the garden at 47, Denman's Lane, Lindfield, that was open this afternoon under the National Gardens Scheme.

Today's 'Extra' features another originally far-eastern shrub, Exochorda racemosa, the Common Pearlbush, also putting out its white flowers against a background of fresh spring leaves.
