Tomato Week

No.1 is taking a trial medication for her tumour.  Unfortunately the two types of chemo were having horrible side effects and have been stopped and the trial is the only option left.  Bizzarely the trial medication requires her to avoid certain food groups when she is taking it (two weeks on and one week off).  Tomatoes, cheese, oranges and peas are on the list to be avoided (something to do with the enzymes in the food affecting the trial).  So, on the third week (which we have now called Tomato Week) she looks forward to all the banned food and enjoyed some tomato sauce with her bacon sandwich today.

Otherwise a fairly sh*t day.  I had booked her a pedicure to help her feel good about herself but the beautician was unable to do it for some reason (maybe connected with chemo effects).  Trying to find a chink of sunshine in all the rubbish she is having to go through (not helped by poor sleep and another cold).  It is so hard as a parent to see the ones you love the most go through tough times.  Lets hope she can turn another corner soon.
