Tom Rudd beck.

Beck is an old Norse word for a stream...it is used in the North of England all the time.

Tom Rudd beck flows into the river Cocker in Cockermouth. We passed by it on our walk around Cockermouth this afternoon in the rain.

Here are some other words for a stream :-

Rill,  Bourne,  Burn,  Gill,  Ghyll...

No doubt there are more!
