That Will Do!

Springing

We had the pleasure of the Flumlet's company today, he arrived with two boxes and a head full of ideas.
Although the Science Festival is on in town, the constant rain was off-putting enough for us to spend the time investigating springs, courtesy of his Crunch Labs kit, by Mark Rober. This activity, under the care of Mr Flum, (as he is an engineer), explored the properties of springs while constructing a toy to launch paper aeroplanes. Very effective it proved to be, requiring the length of an open patio door into the sunroom from the back of the dining room.

After lunch it was my turn to play, as he had requested another session of marbling. I had been pre-warned and had ready the various blanks, omitting the Christmas-orientated shapes in favour of those more suited to Easter.  He was delighted to have established successful  technique and chose mixtures of colours which swirled and ran in complete random - a selection appears as an extra. He took home quite a few and left most here.

His parents arrived in time for a 3- or 2-course meal, as required, constructed by we senior Flums while he relaxed in front of a Minecraft programme.

Gosh, that was fun, what shall we do next week?
