Pochard

After yesterday's trip to the seaside at Porthcawl, my car was covered in salt courtesy of the blustery conditions.  But after the various downpours that we've had since the salt seems to have largely disappeared.  

In between the showers, here is a male Pochard in flight.  Still in its winter plumage with that rich red head, black breast and grey body.
