Lawn invasion

I was rather baffled by a strange patch of this tiny flower growing in the lawn.

In an almost perfect circle and only a few centimetres high, I just had to pick some to photograph.

Extensive research suggests it may be field wood-rush or Good Friday grass (only a few days late), or Luzula campestris.

Also chimney sweep or sweep’s broom, because of the brush like appearance of the flowers.
