Council Chambers.

I had another scanning session this afternoon, scanning documentation from the 1950s. There was some interesting correspondence from a woman wanting to loan the museum a number of “very valuable paintings “. She was only prepared to loan them for a year as her house was being renovated and would be too damp to keep them. She wanted them back after the year “in impeccable condition “ when her house would be free of damp… They obviously didn’t have “Big Yellow Self Storage “ in the 50s!

Today’s picture is of the Council Chambers -located in the same building that the new museum and art gallery will be housed in.
