A Meandering Life...

By Skeena

Since 1882

In 1882 William Barker, as a 14 year old boy, was one of 14 siblings living on a family farm but with so many brothers and sisters there wasn't work there for him to do so he went off to be a draper's assistant in Northallerton.

By 1907 he became a partner and in 1918 he took the business over. Today Barker's of Northallerton is still run and owned by the family. It is the largest department store in the country for the size of town it is in.

Another Pep Ventosa style image using AvgCamPro and a couple of straight images.
