Play

Fortunate children, these, to have, and to take for granted, warm clothes, plentiful food, attentive grandparents, ample time  and space to play, experiment and focus on the business of pouring, puddling and paddling.
The play 'equipment' is only a collection of old gutters and containers and the water is free and boundless but collaboration and  compromise sharpen their communication skills, bending and stretching hone their physical agility. It doesn't matter if they get wet or muddy.
Soon we'll go in for tea and a change of clothes if required.
The hens take only a passing interest.

This is how it should be for all children, and how  it isn't for so, so many. Play is not a privilege but a right.

Extra, the other end of the pipe.
