Cadzow White Cattle

White cattle graze among the puddles in the fields next to the replanted ‘Grand Avenue’ at Chatelherault the former hunting estate of The Duke of Hamilton.

White cattle used to roam the northern forests of Britain and are descended from European Ox. Now reduced to two herds, the other herd is at Chillingam in Northumberland.
