River Brent

We joined the monthly bird walk at Boston Manor Park, Brentford, early this morning, and as we meandered slowly around the pond, woods and fields, 34 bird species were spotted (not all by me - we tag along to learn from those who can identify a bird from a quick flit or call in the bushes). This was despite the constant roar of traffic on the M4, which goes through the park at high level, the graffiti and youths drinking and smoking interesting substances. The resilience of nature! We crossed the River Brent, shown here, and also walked along the Grand Union Canal. It was a lovely, restful, educational experience.
