A Long day's Train Journey into Night

The train from Peterborough to London was packed.  Passengers were pinned against the carriage doors.  It was scary!

The trains were running one an hour instead of two because of strike action.  We knew we were in for a rough day's travel to our theatre destination at Leicester Square.

But when I see the finest performance of one of my favourite plays then I feel it was worth doing the train journey. I have seen it on stage in 5 other productions.

Long Day's Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill is described in The Guardian review as "A long, talking play (3.5 hrs) with little action which slides between domestic exchange, accusation, anger and emotional conflagration." It has a cast of 5 actors.
Brian Cox who many of you will know from Succession is the most well known cast member.  If you think this is a play you would enjoy, go...you won't regret it.  Even if the  journey home is a nightmare!
