Damp

I only remembered halfway through the day that I was supposed to be going out to the airport in the evening for a fleeting meeting with an old friend who was in transit (from Bielefeld to Durness!). Got on a tram about 7pm and trundled out there (well, it picks up speed considerably after it's passed Haymarket). Had to wait for half an hour for Charlie and her family to make it though the various checks, then one of her daughters had to dash for her plane to London and the other one had to retrieve her car from the most distant car park by 9pm. So we schlepped out there - think baby Frieda was the happiest - in the rain along anonymous walkways which were very poorly lit. Reminded me of trekking out to Ingliston for the first round of covid vaccinations, and trying to find where they'd diverted the buses to. R retrieved her car in the nick of time and kindly gave me a lift to the nearest tram stop (one stop out from the airport). Then trundled home on the tram. So it was a 3 hour jaunt, mostly boring in the extreme apart from the half-hour catch up with C. Must be about 10 years since we met f2f, so it was worth it.

Almost forgot to take a photo. These are some damp and dismal looking allotments that the tram passes - maybe Stenhouse, but I could definitely be wrong. First time I'd been beyond Haymarket on the tram. Certainly not worth it for the scenery!
