Meet up

Today we met up with my brother Paul and Becky. We set off in blue sky and sunshine. As usual when we re travelling some distance we stopped off at the 'split road' ( part of the old A590 which is now a dead end.. they split into the tarmac to encourage grass to grow ) It leads to Whitbarrow nature reserve but we decided against that as it was very muddy. We ll try that walk again in a couple of weeks when hopefully the cowslips and wild orchids will be in flower.

We travelled across to Skipton and the weather turned to rain and we were stuck behind a large truck. It was doing good speed until we reached any hill. Then as we passed Settle we were all stuck behind a huge tractor pilling something even bigger and it wasnt travelling very quickly. It made the journey longer than we expected. So instead of arriving with 20 minutes to spare to walk Fletch we were 5 minutes late.

Paul and Becky were already there and it was good to see them. The Bull has a very friendly atmosphere and the food was good.. if rather too generous with the portions. The fish hung over the plate but Fletch was happy to help me finish it.
We had a good catch up and good to see Paul. Sad to see he's still walking with difficulty.

On the way home we stopped at the garden centre to get 2 pots to replace the old ones. We ended up with black rectangular ones, not the ones in the photo.
