The most terrible anniversary: 6 months Gaza war / genocide
30 years since the start of the genocide in Rwanda when members of the Hutu ethnic group killed around 800,000 Tutsis, including Hutus and Twa. 
Then: Global leaders were aware of the genocide but did not intervene. For a long time, the UN avoided to use the word "genocide" due to pressure from the United States. 

World leaders today: "We failed.  We should have done more. 
UN today: Still ashamed for its failure to prevent the genocide. 

Friends are terrified of the upcoming invasion of Rafah.
