Scottish Highlands Vista

A quick comment this evening after a long journey by train, bus and car from Glasgow to Portree on the Isle of Skye. It was an incredibly scenic trip, in wonderful, mostly sunny weather.

This is a view at Plockton just before Kyle of Lochalsh, the final terminus of our train (we had to take a bus from Inverness to Dingwall, due to railway repairs). Steve, our host, met us, and we took the hour's drive across the bridge to Skye and their home at Portree (the largest village on the island). Marylee met Liz and Steve when she was at Oxford in the 1960s. They moved to Skye four years ago, after retiring; Liz's late mother was from Portree.
